About This Tour

Rwanda is home to some of Africa's most prestigious safari lodges, and a luxury gorilla safari here offers a level of exclusivity and natural immersion that few destinations on Earth can match. Rwanda SafariTours designs fully private, bespoke luxury itineraries with hand-picked 5-star accommodation and personal RDB-certified guides throughout.

Luxury lodge options in the Volcanoes NP area include Bisate Lodge (Wilderness Safaris' flagship Rwanda property — voted Africa's best eco-lodge multiple times), Singita Kwitonda Lodge (ultra-luxury with private gorilla tracking experiences), Virunga Lodge (stunning crater lake views, community-focused luxury) and One&Only Gorillas Nest (forest-immersed private villas).

A luxury Rwanda safari typically combines gorilla trekking in Volcanoes NP with Akagera National Park (exclusive Magashi Camp by African Parks) and Lake Kivu (boutique lakeside lodges). Private charter flights between destinations are available to eliminate long road transfers.

Every detail is managed for you: RDB permit bookings (secured 6–12 months in advance), private airport meet-and-greet, all ground transport in a private Land Cruiser, personal guide, lodge reservations and bespoke excursion planning. Rwanda SafariTours specialises in delivering luxury Rwanda safaris that exceed expectations.

Frequently Asked Questions

Rwanda combines world-class lodge accommodation (Bisate, Singita, One&Only), extraordinary wildlife exclusivity (only 8 visitors per gorilla family daily), exceptional food, safety, and a compact size that allows multiple distinct ecosystems in one trip. Rwanda's gorilla trekking is the world's most exclusive wildlife encounter by any measure.
Bisate Lodge (Wilderness Safaris) is widely considered the finest — extraordinary architecture, superb dining, community conservation focus and close proximity to Volcanoes NP. Singita Kwitonda is the most ultra-premium. Virunga Lodge offers the most dramatic views. We help you choose based on your style and budget.
Yes — Rwanda allows private group trekking (your party only, with a personal guide). You need to book your entire group on the same permit allocation for the same gorilla family. For parties of 1–3, you may be combined with other visitors unless you purchase all 8 permits for your group. Contact us to discuss private trek arrangements.
We recommend 6–12 months in advance, especially for peak season (June–September) and for specific luxury lodges like Bisate and Singita which have very limited capacity. Gorilla permits sell out quickly during peak season. Contact us as early as possible to secure your preferred dates.
